As
part
of
the
Water
Institute's
primary
objective
of
supporting
interdisciplinary
water
research
and
education,
the
WI
is
pleased
to
offer
financial
assistance
for
the
development
of
interdisciplinary
water
workshops
or
small
symposia
that
support
this
objective.
Two
workshops
or
symposia,
to
occur
during
the
Winter,
Spring
or
Fall
2014
terms,
will
be
provided
with
up
to
$15,000
each
from
this
request
for
proposals.
The
interdisciplinary
workshops
or
symposia
should:
- catalyze new initiatives and collaborations;
- facilitate interdisciplinary research or teaching, and the formation of multidisciplinary research or teaching teams;
- support the development of university and external (e.g., government, private sector, NGO) partnerships;
- enhance knowledge and the capacity to address emerging water management themes or issues;
- encourage continued collaboration (e.g., development of a formal research proposal or innovative teaching/outreach program).
