Grand Water Research institute visiting Waterloo.
In March 2014, the University of Waterloo and Technion Israel Institute of Technology signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate technology transfer and to provide commercialization opportunities to students and faculty in the areas of quantum information science, nanotechnology and water. This agreement was signed at a joint research conference in Israel which some UWaterloo researchers attended, delivering presentations about their research. This fall there were three reciprical events held in Waterloo with delegations in the three areas of interest in attendance.
A delegation of water researchers from the Grand Water Research Institute (GWRI), Technion Israel Institute of Technology was hosted by the Water Institute October 6-8, 2014. Meetings, lab visits and field site tours were among the activities undertaken during the visit. Each of the GWRI visitors made connections with WI members and future communications are anticipated. The spring conference and fall research meetings were funded with a donation to the University of Waterloo from The Gerald Schwartz & Heather Reisman Foundation.
