Travel to the University of Waterloo & Parking

The University of Waterloo is located on a picturesque 400-hectare campus in the city of Waterloo, about 100 km west of Toronto. Airways Transit provides regular door-to-door shuttle service between Waterloo and Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (which is the largest international airport in Canada).  Reservations can be made by phone (519-886-2121) or online.  The Airways Transit desks are located in the Ground Transportation areas on the Arrivals levels of the terminals at Pearson. A limited number of flights to selected cities (hubs) is also available at the Region of Waterloo International Airport.

The University can be easily accessed from Hwy 401 by taking the Kitchener/Waterloo Exit, #278 (Hwy 8 West). After 8 km, exit right (at Hwy 7 East) onto Conestoga Parkway (Hwy 85) to Waterloo. After another 8 km on Hwy 85, take University Ave. West exit to the campus (4 km). [Note: Hwy 85 is the old Hwy 86.]

Parking is available at the various Visitor Parking Lots (Lot M, N, C).  Download a colour campus map

Message to Engineers coming to work at WATLab site

Engineers coming to perform various services related to installation, maintenance or repairs of WATLab instruments may be able to get parking near the C2 site. Please check in with UW Police and Parking Service (COM on map) and identify yourself and the nature of your service work.  They will then normally issue appropriate temporary parking permit to allow you to park your vehicle (usually at spots reserved for service vehicles) so that you do not have to carry your heavy tools and equipment over long distance.  If they require confirmation, please get them to contact Tong Leung at extension 35826. Please get instruction and an expanded campus map here.
