The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) is a division of the Ontario government responsible for the growth of the agri-food sector, enforcement & improvement of food safety as well as the continuous sustainability of agriculture. OMAFRA currently invests about $60 million in its research programs, which are focused on certain themes, to promote research and innovation in the agri-food sector. This information session sheds light on the different research programs available to researchers from different academic backgrounds interested in innovative, interdisciplinary collaborations.
The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
