Changes to site aim to provide additional information and make it easier for patients to find what they need

The website of the Waterloo Eye Institute clinics has undergone a major update. While things may not look all that different on first glance, the upgraded website provides:

  • Contact information on every page, with links to directions.
  • Simpler paths to finding information, in most cases using shorter URLs.
  • Additional information about our specialized eye and vision services.
  • A “Learn about eye and vision health” page that brings together information for patients about various vision conditions and topics such as the devices you might encounter on a visit to the optometrist’s.
  • More information about the standard and specialty eyewear offered via our Optical Dispensary.

The URL of the home page hasn’t changed – it’s still at uwaterloo.ca/waterloo-eye-institute. If you run into a “page not found” error or find any of the changes confusing, please let us know by emailing optometry.communications@uwaterloo.ca.

One change worth noting is that previously, all our information about eye care was in one section. We have now broken it into two sections: one about routine comprehensive eye exams and one about specialized services not included in an eye exam, such as vision therapy, low vision rehabilitation, post-brain injury visual rehabilitation, ocular disease management, advanced contact lens services and myopia control treatment.

We hope you enjoy our upgraded website. If you have any questions or comments about it, please email us at optometry.communications@uwaterloo.ca. Note that we cannot book appointments via this email address.
