Biography summary
Shiyi Yang received the B.S. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Nanyang Technology University, Singapore, in 2010, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering - systems from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2013 and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical and mechatronics engineering from University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, in 2019. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with the mechanical systems control group at the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, University of Waterloo. His research interests include tactile sensing, path planning, model predictive control, contouring control, optimal control and machine learning with applications to robotic grasping and manipulations. Dr. Yang is a member of ASME and IEEE.
