Biography summary
Soo Jeon received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Seoul National University in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and PhD from UC Berkeley in 2007, all in mechanical engineering. From 2007 to 2009, Dr. Jeon worked in Applied Materials Inc. as a mechanical engineer. Since 2009, he has been with the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at University of Waterloo, where he is currently an associate professor. Dr. Jeon's research interests lie in the area of mechatronics including applied instrumentation and automatic control. Main applications of his research include autonomous robots, industrial automation and intelligent vehicles. Dr. Jeon is a licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO) and a member of ASME, CSME and IEEE.
