In
late
October,
the
Waterloo
Public
Transportation
Initiative
(WPTI)
welcomed
over
10 students
from
the
Karlsruhe
University
of
Applied
Sciences
for
a
week-long
exchange.
During
the
week,
students
collaborated
to
develop
ideas
and
identify
best
practices
for
the
ongoing
Region
of
Waterloo
Light
Rail
Transit
project.
As
part
of
the
exchange,
Holger
Wagensommer,
a
senior
engineer
with
VB
Karlsruhe
—
the
transit
agency
in
Karlsruhe,
Germany
— provided
a
public
lecture
on
the
German
best
practices
for
light
rail
transit.
