Join our WiE Mini Hackathon! The point of this short hack is to practice iterating fast + rapid prototyping + learning how to work in a team under pressure + consuming lots of caffeine to get through it all. The scale and ideas would be smaller, but you'll still go through all the steps of a full hackathon! Bonus- you don't need to have any prior experience- so if you've always wanted to learn, this is your chance!

Join us in the first Round Table with WiE leaders of this Fall term! This event is a series of roundtable discussions which provide networking and mentorship forum for graduate and undergraduate students. At the Round Table, we hope to connect you to WiE leaders in academia, industry, and government. Listen to their stories and be inspired to overcome and succeed. 

In September 2023, we are honored to have Gillian Wilton, a Water Resources Engineer-in-Training at Stantec, and Jennifer Howcroft, a lecturer at the department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo. 

Women in Engineering (WiE) welcomes all new and returning women and non-binary students, staff and faculty to Waterloo Engineering! Please join us for free food, outdoor games, WiE swag and a chance to learn about all the fun things WiE has planned for the Fall term!

ℹ️ About the Conference
This full day, in-person conference for first and upper year engineering students will showcase a variety of guest speakers and workshops focused on helping participants navigate through both student life and career preparation.

What's Next is for undergraduate students who have, at least, completed their second year of university with a goal of supporting the transition into their first full-time job/career.

What Now is geared toward supporting first year students transition from high school into their new undergraduate experience.

Please join the Women in Engineering Graduate and Faculty Committees for a picnic in the Grad House Green Space on August 16th from 12pm-2pm. There will be music, outdoor games, food and a chance to win prizes! This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow women engineering students and faculty to enjoy the summer weather!

Drop ins are welcome but we ask that you kindly register in advance so we know how many people to expect for food. 

Join the Women in Engineering Graduate Committee for a trail walk around Columbia Lake on Wednesday, July 12th to meet fellow engineering students. Snacks and refreshments will be provided for the walk. We will meet at 5:30pm in the main foyer of Engineering 7 and will take the bus to Westmount Sports Park. Please remember to bring your Watcard for the bus. Register in advance so we know to expect you!
