Dawn was born and raised in England and moved to Sarnia, Ontario in 1987 when her father accepted an ex-pat assignment. She finished high school in Sarnia and went on to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
Upon graduation in 1995, Dawn started work as a Process Engineer for NOVA Chemicals at their styrene monomer manufacturing plant in Sarnia. Although the plant ownership changed over the years, Dawn worked at the facility until mid-2014. She held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility culminating with the Site Director position.
In August 2014 Dawn returned to NOVA Chemicals as an Operations Team Leader at their Corunna plant. She continues to reside in the Sarnia area with her family.
