Join our Writing Cafe for Black, Indigenous, and Racialized Students

The Black, Indigenous and Racialized Students' Writing Café is a social writing group. Unlike traditional peer feedback-based writing groups, we don’t read each other’s finished writing: instead, we write together to create a community of writers who can cheer each other on during what is often an isolating, difficult journey!

A space where you can write without judgment, rest without guilt, and connect with peers navigating similar challenges in their academic journeys.

Drop in to write, meet with a writing advisor, or just enjoy a warm drink and a moment of calm. No pressure, no critique—just a space to be seen, supported, and productive on your own terms.

Write in community – not in isolation.

When: Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. (January 6 – April 28, 2026)

Where: Hagey Hall 2034 (The Project Cube)
