As a Writing and Communication Advisor, Sarah Franiczek (she/her) supports undergraduate students across disciplines through all stages of the writing process. She graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree in English from Western University and is currently pursuing her PhD in English at the University of Waterloo. Sarah brings to her role over ten years of experience in higher education, with expertise in strategic communications, project management, and equity, diversity, inclusion, and access. She especially enjoys helping students find a way forward when they feel stuck, whether they're staring at a blank page, working through a complex idea, or figuring out how to approach a tricky conversation with a professor. Sarah is also passionate about creating more equitable access to academic spaces for Black, Indigenous, racialized, and other equity-denied students. She leads the Black, Indigenous and racialized students' writing café and Write Night and loves talking about these programs, so feel free to ask her about them! When she's not at work, you'll find Sarah cooking and eating good food, drinking some form of caffeinated beverage, or spending quality time with her cat, Luna.
