Scholarship Support

The Writing and Communication Centre provides support for graduate students who are applying for OGS/QEII-GSST, CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC  funding or other graduate-level scholarships.

Types of support available

One-to-one online or in-person appointments

Our writing advisors will work with you in one-to-one appointments to help you draft, structure or revise your research proposal for your scholarship application.

Asynchronous workshop: Tri-agency scholarship research proposals

If you are applying for an OGS/QEII-GSSTCIHRNSERC, or SSHRC scholarship to fund your graduate studies, or even an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), you will be required to submit a research proposal as part of your application package. This workshop will introduce you to the research proposal as a genre, give you an opportunity to review what rhetorical strategies make proposals successful, and offer strategies for drafting and revising your own proposal.

Scholarship Research Proposal Write-In

If you are applying for an OGS/QEII-GSSTCIHRNSERC, or SSHRC scholarship to fund your graduate studies, you will need to submit a research proposal as part of your application package. Drop into one of the WCC's In-Person Writing Cafés to work alongside other graduate students in a supportive environment as you draft and revise your proposal.

We'll have WCC staff standing by to offer feedback and answer questions as you work!

When: September 25 and October 2, from 2:00pm to 4:30pm
