This paper introduces a comprehensive framework for evaluating youth-led social change in Canada, drawing from over three decades of data (1978–2012). It identifies the core topics youth engage with, how they participate, the kinds of organizations they work through, and the strategies they use to create impact.
Key findings include:
- Youth (age 15–24) can successfully create social change.
- A new framework for youth engagement strategies and impacts is presented.
- Results show a strong relationship between impact achieved and the approaches used.
- Young people can achieve significant impact by joining political parties.
