Zhao’s group focuses on the studies of surface science and bionanomaterials towards the development of high-performance advanced materials and innovative functional devices, including smart polymers, biopolymers, sustainable polymers, antimicrobial coatings and composites, hydrogels, bionanomaterials, soft materials and interface, biomimetic adhesion, soft robotic devices, 3D printing, etc.
It is well known for its interdisciplinary research capacity to take on both fundamental and applied research projects, providing an outstanding training environment for future scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs.
