Music

Explore the many ways that music is meaningful in today’s world through a flexible program combining theory, studio, performance and history. Investigate the "edges" of music including relationships between music and technology, film, gender, or psychology. Travel to England or South Africa to experience and study music.

Conrad Grebel University College is home to the University of Waterloo's Department of Music and offers instruction in more than 20 instruments as well as vocal lessons.

Find a supportive environment for majoring in music or pursue a variety of different program options that combine music with other subjects. As a Waterloo student, you are invited to take a music course, sing in a choir, play in an instrumental ensemble, or sign up for a studio lesson - no matter what program you are in.

Graduates excel in a variety of careers including public, private, and post-secondary school teaching, performance, music ministry, and business. Many have pursued masters and PhD degrees in music. Learn more about what our graduates are doing now!
