Teaching & Learning Month at Waterloo

What is Teaching and Learning Month?

The Office of the Associate Vice-President, Academic, in collaboration with the Teaching Innovation Incubator is excited to announce our very first Teaching and Learning Month at the University of Waterloo!

Beginning October 1st, Teaching and Learning Month will bring a spotlight to both the new and existing programs and workshops being offered by Waterloo's Academic Support Units as well as other campus partners that support teaching and learning.

Open to all Waterloo faculty and staff, Teaching and Learning month aims to bring a sense of cohesion to the many teaching and learning workshops and training sessions taking place on our campus. These sessions approach learning from various perspectives including professional development, effective teaching strategies, as well as instructional supports. We encourage attendees to participate in a variety of sessions that present new ideas and methods for supporting our learners.

Join us over the month of October as we highlight some of the work being done across campus to support teaching and learning and opportunities for you to develop your teaching practice, including the Centre for Teaching Excellence’s Instructional Innovations Week, with workshops and presentations from faculty members, ASU staff, and special guest Dr. Simon Riley from the University of Edinburgh.

How can I participate?

Check out the calendar of workshops and sessions below. You can read a full session description by clicking on the name of the workshop or session. Note that you must register for each individual session you plan on attending, but you may register for as many sessions as you like. Registration links can be accessed by clicking on each session listed in the calendar.

Please note that Teaching and Learning month sessions may use different registration platforms depending on the unit hosting.
