Ouachita Mountains Goldenrod
Solidago ouachitensis C.E.S. Taylor & R.J. Taylor is rare on mesic, north-facing slopes in the Ouachita Mts. western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. Historically, Solidago ouachitensis has been included in S. caesia or S. curtisii; it is ecologically and morphologically distinct (Semple & Cook 2006 FNA). In the polygenomic phylogeny of Solidago, S. ouachitensis came out as the basal branch in sect. Glomeruliflorae (Semple et al. 2023). The species is diploid (2n=18).
