Chrysopsis subulata

Chrysopsis subulata Small is native to peninsula Florida. It has non-glandular leaves and phyllaries, which are narrow and long-tapering. The fruits have multiple reddish-brown ridges. The species is diploid (2n=10).  It blooms earlier than other species in the genus in Florida.  See Semple (2006 FNA).
