Lava Ankle-aster
Ionactis alpina (Nutt.) Greene is native to dry ridges, slopes, and flats, commonly with sagebrush from southern Oregon to western Montana south to Nevada and Mono Co., California (Nesom 2006 FNA). The plants have stems 5-20 cm tall from a woody rootstock, mid stems leaf blades ovate to oblong or linear (4–15 mm long), and eglandular fruit bodies.
