Graduate Student, PhD

Lauren Bechard
Lauren is a PhD student in the Brain & Body Lab interested in finding innovative ways to support the use of physical activity for healthy, meaningful cognitive aging. Lauren completed her M.Sc in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Toronto (2017) where she conducted qualitative research investigating physical activity participation in older adults with cognitive impairment and their care partners. In her current doctoral research, Lauren is using a multidisciplinary approach to investigate factors associated with physical activity participation on a population level, and translate this big-picture knowledge into person-centered resources and strategies that persons with dementia and their care partners can use to lead healthy, meaningful lives.
