The University of Waterloo's Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience supports the development of robust explanatory theories of mind and brain through education and research. In pursuit of that goal the CTN has invited four internationally renowned speakers to present generally accessible lectures from each of the perspectives of neuroscience, computational neuroscience, psychology and philosophy on the ideas of mind, brain, theories and models.

This is a free event, and we have a marvellous line up of speakers. The first talk will begin at 9:00 a.m. (with coffee available before).  Three of the four lectures will be delivered live and in person in Davis Centre 1302 (search for DC) on the University's main campus. Viktor Jirsa's lecture will be delivered by live video feed to the Davis Centre 1302. All lectures will be available for live online viewing. Return here for links to the live feed. We will be using MS Teams. If you want to watch the lectures on line you should make sure you have the Teams application set up on your computer.

While we are happy to provide the link for online viewing we really hope that many of you will come out and join us in person. Talk to the speakers, meet your colleagues. Enjoy free coffee. The CTN looks forward to greeting you all on April 6th.

CTN Research Day 2023 Oct 17 16:30 - 19:00 QNC 0101

The Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience will be hosting its second Research Day. This will be a chance to start the new academic year by getting re-acquainted with each other and the diversity of research conducted by CTN core and affiliate faculty. The format will be to have a number of CTN faculty share short overviews of their lab's and projects (16:30-17:30) and then, following a short coffee break (17:30-18:00), hear from a dozen current graduate students and post-docs giving short three minute talks on an aspect of their current research (18:00-19:00).
