Research
Professor Ingalls' work involves the application of mathematical tools from systems and control theory to studies of biological systems. This analysis is applied to both intracellular systems (e.g. genetic regulatory networks) and networks of cells, including neuronal networks. Dr. Ingalls' work on sensitivity analysis – a key aspect of computational modelling – has been published in the Journal of Theoretical Biology and the Journal of Physical Chemistry. Professor Ingalls is an associate editor of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Systems Biology and a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Applied Mathematical Analysis and Applications. His work on regulation of cellular activity is funded by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
