PhD Symposium
This year, ICIAR 2015 is organizing a PhD Symposium for recent PhD graduates as well as PhD students who are advanced in their research and are near completion to participate in this forum. Approved participants will present their PhD research ideas and work in progress and any accomplished results. This forum will allow feedback and discussion among participants and senior researchers attending the ICIAR 2015 conference. Topics are within the same topics of the ICIAR conference: Image analysis and Pattern Recognition. There will be a prize of $300 and certificate to be given to the best presentation, and $200 and certificate for the second best presentation, as judged by ICIAR award committee members.
Submission
Potential participants should submit a 2-page proposal using IEEE 2-column format for their presentation that should include:
Motivation of the research, novelty of the work relative to the state of the art, results and work-in progress and possible impact and applications.
Your submission should be accompanied by proof of date of your defense or a letter from supervisor that you are close to defend your thesis.
Only electronic submission will be accepted through the conference paper submission web page. Select paper type "PhD Symposium" when uploading your submission.
Attendance
All approved proposals will be notified and are expected to attend the symposium and present their work. Copies of the proposals will be posted on the conference website. Excellent presenters will be invited to contribute invited articles in ICIAR 2016.
Participants are expected to register for the symposium at a nominal registration fee. Of course students attending the conference can participate in symposium as part of their conference registration.
Important Dates
- Proposal submission: April 24, 2015
- Notification of acceptance: May 11, 2015
- Registration: May 25, 2015.
- Call for short and poster papers is posted.
Submission deadline is April 15.
