Two Evenings of Community-Powered Decolonization

Join us to listen and learn about how to build peace together in our communities with Indigenous thought-leader and justice catalyst, Sarah Augustine. Sarah will inspire and equip us with insights from decades of practical work on peace building and dismantling oppressive systems at the community level. 

This exhibit of photography and prose is an opportunity to intentionally invite the audience to critically observe the impact of our actions on the natural world and re-examine our relationship with the environment and each other. It will be open from Wednesday, July 2 to Tuesday, September 30.

Come meet the artists, and explore the themes, vision, and artistic process behind their work.

Visit the Combatting Hate Action Table (CHAT) as they stop at Conrad Grebel as part of their wider tour and campaign across KW. A GRT bus with anti-hate messaging and informational activities will be travelling around the region bringing messages of inclusion and belonging. 

This guided cycling tour visits four exceptional galleries in one memorable day with support from CycleWR. The leisurely-paced rides between galleries allow plenty of time to appreciate each collection while showcasing why the Waterloo region leads in both arts and cycling infrastructure. Expert marshals from Cycle WR will lead a memorable cycling gallery tour discussing the exhibition themes of displacement, housing, cultural heritage, and environmental sustainability.

Want to beat your friends in challenging and logical, fun and interactive games? Join MEGA for their game night on October 28 in the fourth floor at Conrad Grebel. Grab your friends and come up to play some games and eat some snacks, see you there!

Join us for the Map the System Matchmaking event, where students get to meet and pair up with community partners to take on a Map the System topic!

This exhibit brings together six artists whose works explore cultural heritage, migration, and the layered realities of life in the diaspora. Wen Li, Tazeen Qayyum, Paria Shahverdi, JJ Lee, and Faseeh Saleem. Together, their works invite viewers to re-imagine belonging, memory, and the ways stories are preserved, reshaped, and shared across borders. It will be open from Thursday, October 2 to Saturday, February 28.

Looking for more ways to engage with Indigenous culture and community? Join the Mennonite Central Committee for a meaningful evening of learning, reflection, and community conversation as they welcome Phyllis Webstad, the woman who inspired the creation of Orange Shirt day. 

Drawing inspiration from Celtic knotwork—an ancient visual language of continuity, connection, and interdependence—the works reflect how individual lives are bound together into something stronger and more enduring: community. 'Shared Threads' will be open from Sunday, March 1 to Monday, March 30.
