Mapping systems with Jordan Li

As the end of 2023 looms, the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement team is hard at work preparing for the 2024 edition of the Map the System competition.  Jordan Li, a 4th year student at the University of Waterloo and active member of the Conrad Grebel University College community, is serving as this year’s Map the System Campus Lead, and is eager to share insights from her experience competing in the past.

A meet and greet with Mary Kavanagh

On November 8, the Conrad Grebel University College community had the pleasure of welcoming artist Mary Kavanagh to speak about her exhibition, Trinity, Then and Now, to Grebel students, staff, and faculty at Community Supper.

Organizations affiliated with the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement, including Core Collaborators and Grebel Peace Incubator participants, strive to create a more peaceful world by engaging with governments at provincial, national, and transnational levels. Project Ploughshares, a Core Collaborator at the Centre, has played a pivotal role in shaping various policies related to disarmament.

Peace Week 2023: A Recap

Peace Week 2023 officially kicked off on September 21, the International Day of Peace, marking a meaningful celebration dedicated to social justice, peace, and community building. As the week culminates with this year's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on many of the events that have taken place.

Welcome BWOSS to the Grebel Peace Incubator! Lena Thibeh, Hana H., and Razan Qaoud are the team behind BWOSS; a professional development program that empowers Black, Indigenous, and Women of Colour (BIWOC) to thrive in the tech sales industry.

The Peace Innovators Scholarship & Mentoring Program, a collaborative effort by Kindred Credit Union, the Centre for Peace Advancement, and The Ripple Effect Education, empowers young leaders from Ontario high schools to tackle community issues. Through workshops and mentorship, participants gain practical skills and a strong support network to drive positive change, culminating in a showcase event in April.
