Elham Mohammadi is a third-year Ph.D. student in the department of environmental studies. She received her first Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Iran and her second Master's degree in Environmental Studies in Canada. She has worked on several research projects ranging from e-waste to food security, mainly in small island states. For her Ph.D. research, she is using a systems thinking approach to analyze how information systems can help vulnerable communities to move from vulnerability to viability. With a background in mathematics and environmental studies, she is interested in applying systems thinking and statistical modelling for sustainability research. In April 2022, her Map the System team was chosen as one of the top teams in the University of Waterloo's campus final. This year, as the Map the System Campus Lead, she is excited to assist her peers.
