Emma Kirke is a fifth-year Environment, Resource and Sustainability Studies student with a minor in urban planning at the University of Waterloo. Having just finished her final co-op term with an eight-month placement working on Great Lakes conservation at Environment and Climate Change Canada, Emma brings a background working in multi-stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary contexts to the Centre. Emma’s previous experience also includes working in the House of Commons during the 2018-2019 session and stints with various environmental NGOs, including Nature Canada and the Green Budget Coalition. Emma is curious about exploring the links between human conflict and the well-being of our natural world as we look for solutions to foster resilience in our global community in the face of a changing climate. Fall 2022 marks Emma’s second term with the CPA as a PeaceTech live-learn community leader. In addition, Emma is also working part-time as a content writer for the Centre.
