Associate Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies
Dr. Johonna McCants-Turner is an associate professor of Peace and Conflict Studies. Her work focuses on how narratives of violence and safety are shaped and reshaped into popular discourse, public policy, and collective praxis. Her interest includes the ways contemporary Black women and youth define and organize against multiple forms of violence while contesting carceral ideologies, institutions, and imaginaries.
