ChemEd takes place on a college campus, allowing for organizers to hold hands-on labs, workshops and demonstrations. This biennial conference is one of the largest for educators involved in teaching high school chemistry in North America. It is an opportunity for educators to gather together for five days to learn and exchange their teaching ideas in a friendly and motivating environment. ChemEd creates a community for dedicated and involved science educators.
The University of Waterloo hosted the first ChemEd in 1973. After 46 years, the conference has matured to include many traditions, such as the Reg Friesen Lecture, children/family programs, Mole Day breakfast, 6.02K Mole Stroll, and an end-of-conference celebration. And Avo will be there!
