Student Research Spotlight: Visualizing climate change impacts in Atlantic Canada

The Co-operators and Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan today announced the creation of the Partners for Action (P4A) Network at the University of Waterloo's Faculty of Environment. The two founding partners have committed $1.1 million to the new applied research network, which will work to advance flood resiliency in Canada in the face of a changing climate.

A local team is leading the Canadian component of the World Wide Views on Climate and Energy citizen consultation initiative. The University of Waterloo, in partnership with the Balsillie School of International Affairs, will host the forum on Saturday, June 6th at Knox Church in Waterloo, Ontario.

This coming Earth Day, April 22nd, the University of Waterloo, in partnership with the Kitchener Public Library, will host a free public lecture discussing climate change featuring three leading researchers and IC³ members: Blair Feltmate, Ian Rowlands,  and Maria Strack.

UW Students at UN Climate Negotiations

Two members of UW's Climate Students group are currently in Lima, Peru for the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), commonly referred to as "COP20".  

In October 2014, IC3 and the Region of Waterloo’s Sustainability Office co-hosted a forum of local municipal stakeholders to advance dialogue and planning on climate adaptation and extreme weather resilience in Waterloo Region.
