Coastal Zone Canada 2027 invites abstract submissions from researchers, practitioners, communities, governments, industry, NGOs, students, and others working across Canada’s coastal, marine, and Great Lakes environments.
Under the theme Coastal Futures: Bridging Tradition and Technology, CZC 2027 will bring together diverse perspectives on how we understand, manage, protect, and adapt to rapidly changing coastal environments. We particularly welcome contributions that connect disciplines, knowledge systems, sectors, and generations.
An exciting program is taking shape
The response to our call for workshops, panels, and special sessions has been outstanding. Proposals received to date span an exciting range of topics and formats, including emerging technologies, coastal science and engineering, environmental change, community and citizen science, education and communication, governance and co-governance, management and planning, and the future of coastal communities and ecosystems.
Participants can expect a program that goes well beyond conventional conference sessions, with opportunities for hands-on learning, interactive discussion, cross-sector dialogue, community engagement, and collaborative problem-solving. Together, these activities are being designed to create connections between research and practice and to encourage conversations that continue well beyond the conference.
