Student Resources

Legal Consultant

As part of your segregated fees (collected together with your tuition fee), you can obtain legal consultant services through UW GSA. This program offers services such as housing disputes, employment disputes, public notaries and more. Note that if you are graduating soon and are currently getting involved in situations that need help from them, do remember to open the case before you graduate.

Immigration Consultant

The university provides free immigration consulting for current students and recent graduates. However, it is important to note that it is very competative to get a spot to meet with them. Same as their enquire forms, which takes time for them to respond.

Student Insurance

The following text assumes you pay the segregated insurance fee and get student insurance from UW GSA.

You might have already aware of that you can get covered for common medical care. Here's some additional benefits that you might want to check out:

  • Dental: covers cleaning, filling, and more. Be aware of the annual limit.
  • Vision: covers test and glasses (lens). Be aware of the annual/two-year limit.
  • Travel Insurance: This is enough for a Schegen visa (at least for Germany and Switzerland). However, if you want to use this benefit, be careful of the definition of "travel" and the reimbursement procedure.

CS Services

  • The CS grad lounge provides a variety of board games.
  • The CS mail room has printers, and your mail delivered to the campus is stored there.
  • You may borrow devices (e.g., a special laptop) from CSCF for a short term. They also provide a variety of accessories.
