Proposed Changes

Established before July 2018, CSGSA has served as the official CS graduate student organization recognized by the School of Computer Sciences (SCS). Our current (and original) constitution was drafted in November 2019 following an annual meeting and became effective when no concerns were raised. Recently, the UW GSA now requires all dGSAs to adopt the standardized UW GSA constitution template to retain their official status.

The revised constitution, adapted from the official UW GSA template, incorporates the following key changes:

  • Membership clarification: only CS graduate students and postdocs are eligible for membership. This change complies with SCS's reimbursement restrictions.
  • Voting quorum clarification: the decision-making quorum has been changed from requiring all members to only voting members, acknowledging the large size of the CS graduate community.

The Vice President of UW GSA has approved the revised constitution.
