In first year, I wish I knew more about the multiple opportunities available to students to get involved in on campus through the various clubs and activities organised for students.

Involvement outside the classroom: I have taken part in a few case competitions as well as the App Development club. For recreational purposes I also joined clubs such as the UW Poker Club, which was a good way to gain a breather from academics. Additionally, I frequently attend events conducted by student associations such as Accounting and Finance Student Association (AFSA) and UW Finance Association (UWFA). Additionally, I have participated in intramural soccer, futsal and recreational basketball.

I enjoy...

  • All sports, especially soccer and basketball
  • Debates and politics – and I have a lot of experience in Model UN
  • Business and entrepreneurship
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest happenings in the world of technology and start-ups

Favourite place to study: Dana Porter Library

Favourite place to eat in Waterloo: Mozy's Shawarma

Memorable co-op experience: I worked as a Junior Developer at an e-commerce support based company called Iksula. Here I learned how e-commerce websites are managed from a back-end perspective and gained many key technical as well as corporate skills which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was truly surprising to see how concepts we learn in class are applied in such a varied manner in a corporate environment.

Plans for life after CFM: Post CFM I hope to first gain some experience in the job market and then eventually start up my own business and put into practice some of the many business ideas I get as a student at University of Waterloo.

Fun fact: I am 6 feet 5 inches tall but do not let that intimidate you, I am extremely friendly and approachable.
