AIMday: Materials

Wednesday, April 23, 2025 (all day)

AIMday(TM) Materials is a workshop where organizations (industry and government groups) meet UW’s professors to discuss and propose solutions to the industry’s challenges in synthesizing, processing, and testing new and advanced materials. The event's expected outcome is to solve material science's most pressing sustainability concerns by developing new research collaborations across sectors.

Established in 2008 at Uppsala University, Sweden, AIMday has been implemented and refined by leading universities around the world.

AIMday is a unique and highly effective program for university-based researchers and organizations to connect, build partnerships and bring world-class research to life. By matching academic expertise with the needs of organizations, AIMday furthers understanding and enables new perspectives on real-world problems.

At this AIMday workshop, industry and academic experts will discuss the submitted questions in the following categories:

  1. Materials for vehicles and transportation
  2. Materials for energy harvesting, storage, and conversion
  3. Materials for health and biomedical applications
  4. Materials for novel polymers
  5. Materials for carbon footprint reduction
  6. Materials for infrastructure and construction
  7. AI and machine learning for modelling material properties
