New DIESEL Publications

Two new papers were recently accepted to be published in the journal Ergonomics. The focus of these two research studies were identifying shoulder muscle fatigue onset, and evaluating off-axis upper extremity joint moments and forces during pushing and pulling. Both provide ergonomics practitioners with useful information about what to consider during task analysis.

Members of DIESEL are heading to Rochester, Minnesota for the 42nd annual American Society of Biomechanics Annual Meeting. The work presented at this conference represents just some of the new research coming from our MSc, PhD and Post Doctoral fellow trainees. Congratulations to everyone for having your work accepted!

Congratulations, Kathleen Maclean!

PhD candidate successful in thesis defence!

Congratulations to Kathleen Maclean on the successful defence of her PhD thesis "Development of a Probablistic Chimpanzee Glenohumeral Model: Implications for Human Function". Kathleen played an integral role in numerous projects during her time with DIESEL, and has mentored many undergraduate and graduate students over the course of her PhD studies. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours!

DIESEL trainees are currently recruiting participants for a research study!

We are actively looking for individuals with overweight or obese body types (as determined by the Body Mass Index (BMI) measurement) for an ergonomics research study taking place on campus in our lab. The aim of this study is to assess differences in physical exposures between varying body composition groups while performing manual material handling tasks.
