Join us in the Earth Sciences Museum on Saturday February 16th for free fun drop-in programs for kids and their families! We will be hosting two sessions during the day. Dinosaurs and Fossils in the morning and Rocks and Minerals in the afternoon.

Give your kids a Saturday of fun-filled, educational adventure in the Earth Sciences Museum!

  Program Description Age Group Time
Session 1

Dinosaurs and Fossils

Learn about dinosaurs! Meet Albertosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Tyrannosaurus and the rest of their friends. You will see full sized skeletons and be able to touch real dinosaur fossils. JK/SK and up 11:00 - 12:00
Session 2 Rocks and Minerals Learn about rocks and minerals! Includes touchable specimens and hands on activities. This program includes the exploration of our mine tunnel and digging for fossil fish. Grade 3 and up 1:00  - 2:00

Parking is available in Lot Q for $5.00

Museum hours

Conestoga Rovers Learning Centre (the “Dino pit”) open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The museum’s main atrium, mining tunnel, Great Lakes fountain and stunning mineral exhibits open all day Monday to Friday and weekends from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Peter Russell Rock Garden (located outdoors) open to the public year round. Self-guided tours are available.
