Resource Responsibilities:
Innovation for Responsible Mining is an in-class workshop designed to introduce students to the mining industry in Canada, environmental concerns associated with mining and current research into mine site remediation. The workshop, aimed at students in grades 7 through 10, includes four hands on activities, 3 videos about Earth science careers (featuring active university staff and students!) and a take home field guide for every student. The workshop is designed to meet the science and geography learning expectations for each grade and be accessible regardless of your classes baseline knowledge of mining processes.
The program materials will be loaned out and shipped to your classroom at no charge to you for your students to enjoy! Technology services are available for classes without access to video viewing technology.
