Earth Science Museum is partnering with Kitchener-Waterloo Gem and Mineral Club to give tours about the local and distant rocks used in different buildings and structures around Waterloo and Kitchener.

The tours commemorate the KW Gem and Mineral Club's 50th Anniversary.

Rock around Waterloo: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with Peter Russell starting at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex in uptown Waterloo

Rock around Kitchener: 2:00-4:00 pm with Corina McDonald starting at the corner of Duke and Queen.

Museum hours

Conestoga Rovers Learning Centre (the “Dino pit”) open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The museum’s main atrium, mining tunnel, Great Lakes fountain and stunning mineral exhibits open all day Monday to Friday and weekends from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Peter Russell Rock Garden (located outdoors) open to the public year round. Self-guided tours are available.
