Ancaster Gem, Mineral, Bead & Jewellery Show
The show is running from Friday September 30th to October 2nd at the Ancaster Fairgrounds.
The Museum will be closed for the holidays on December 21, 2024. It will re-open on January 6, 2025.

This year, the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club’s 13th Annual Hike Festival will feature hikes around the Bruce Trial in Tobermory and a variety of seminars, including a talk by Peter Russell. The Earth Sciences Museum is showing two displays at this event; vibrantly coloured mineral samples, and Burgess Shale fossils.
Peter Russell's talk Hiking the Red Rocks of Arizona will be at 7pm on September 30th, and our mineral displays will be available to view Friday though Saturday at the National Parks Visitors Centre in Tobermory.
The London Gem & Mineral Show will have vendors selling minerals, fossils, and jewellery. In addition, the event will host seminars and workshops about earth science and jewellery making.
The Earth Sciences Museum will be providing hands-on educational activities for kids at this event on Saturday November 19th and Sunday November 20th.

The Peter Russell Rock Garden was created along with the University of Waterloo's Earth Sciences Museum, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year! Join us for a tour around this beautiful oasis on campus. Through our discussion of various rock specimens from around the globe that make up the rock garden, you'll learn about the history of Earth, mines and minerals of Canada, and unique rock structures of Ontario. If we're lucky, the wisteria will be in bloom, too!
