Congratulations to our very own Quinn Worthington on receiving the Amit and Meena Chakma Award for Exceptional Teaching by a Student! This award is given to a student who is considered to have intellectual vigor and communication skills in the interpretation and presentation of subject matter, as well as concern and sensitivity to the academic need of the students. There are 4 awards given annually throughout all of the University of Waterloo, Quinn being the 2nd recipient of this award from the Earth and Environmental Science Department in the award's history, as well the only MSc student amongst Ph.D. students to win the award this year! Extraordinary job Quinn!

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Office of Indigenous Relations.
