Peter Morris originally came to Canada in 1955 from Portsmouth, England. He worked as a professor for a number of years in the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Waterloo and then became a geology consultant travelling and exploring parts of the world until retirement.

Peter is a dedicated volunteer with the Earth Sciences Museum. He has given his time and knowledge as an advisory board member since the early 1990’s. He is passionate about expanding the Earth Sciences Museum and has helped bring to life many of the Museum’s exhibits such as the Peter Russell Rock Garden, Dinosaur artwork, the Cobalt Mine Tunnel and the Interactive Mastodon display. To encourage Earth Sciences exploration Peter also assists with hands-on activities for families at numerous Gem Shows throughout Ontario and at the Detroit Gem Show in Warren, Michigan.
