The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced this year's new Fellows. We are very pleased that our colleague, Dr. David Blowes, is among them. Here is RSC's citation:

David Blowes is an international leader in the field of environmental geochemistry. Through sophisticated laboratory, field and modelling studies, he has made ground-breaking contributions to our understanding of the release of contaminants from mine wastes. Dr. Blowes has made important contributions to the development of management practices for mine wastes and to the development of novel groundwater remediation technologies.
David Blowes est un leader international dans le domaine de la géochimie environnementale. Grâce à des études en laboratoire, de terrain et de modélisation à la fine pointe de la technologie, il a contribué de façon significative à la compréhension des contaminants provenant des rejets miniers. Dr. Blowes a apporté des contributions importantes dans les domaines du développement des pratiques de gestion des rejets miniers et de la conception de nouvelles technologies d’assainissement de l’eau souterraine."
