The Ecohydrology Research Group is thrilled to announce the successful funding of $630,769 for a new Collaborative Research and Development project on “Elucidating the biogeochemical processes controlling natural source zone depletion (NSZD) of petroleum hydrocarbons in contaminated soils under dynamic redox conditions”. The project is awarded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and in partnership with Imperial Oil Limited for 3 years (2019-2022).
The University of Waterloo and Imperial Oil Limited team members in this project hosted a successful kick-off meeting on June 7th 2019 and discussed the research design and work plan of this project. The project is led by Drs. Philippe Van Cappellen (PI), Fereidoun Rezanezhad, Chris Parsons, David Rudolph, Neil Thomson (Co-PIs) and Christina Smeaton and James Barker (Collaborators).
