The week of July 9th- 14th 2023, Ecohydrology Research Group members present their research at the Goldschmidt 2023 conference in Lyon, France.

Ecohydrology researchers Philippe Van Cappellen and  Fereidoun Rezanezhad organized a session titled “Biogeochemistry of urbanization” that included a series of flash talks, oral and poster presentations. Session Conveners: Fereidoun Rezanezhad and Philippe Van Cappellen (Ecohydrology Research Group, University of Waterloo), Neele van Laaten (Friedrich Schiller University Jena), Jane A Entwistle (Northumbria University), Elodie Passeport (University of Toronto), and Laurent Charlet (ISTerre, Université Grenoble Alpes).

Philippe Van Cappellen gave a keynote talk in the session “ Earth's Cold Regions: Hydrochemistry, Biochemistry, Geochemistry”. Philippe’s talk was titled “Snapshots of the World’s Cold Regions Changing Biogeochemistry.” In the same session, Fereidoun Rezanezhad gave an invited talk titled “Winter Soil Processes in Cold Region Agroecosystems: Impacts on Nitrogen Cycling.”

The following research was presented by Ecohydrology research group members:
