Philippe visited the Laboratoire the Physique Subatomique et des Technologies Associées (SUBATECH) in Nantes on January 28-29. He met with members of the Radiochemistry group, including Dr. Catherine Landesman and Dr. Abdesselam Abdelouas, to discuss joint research projects using environmental radioisotopes. He presented a talk entitled “What’s in a Name: Ecohydrology – Waterloo Style”. On January 30-31, Philippe was in Rennes where he gave the keynote in the Symposium “Biogeochemical Processes and Cycling: From the Micro to Landscape Scale” organized by Dr. Anniet Laverman of the Observatoire des Sciences de l’Univers de Rennes (OSUR). Following the symposium, discussions centered on pore-scale reactive transport processes, early diagenetic modeling and geological controls on nitrogen fate and transport.
