The Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada and the Global Institute for Water Security jointly organized “Water Day on the Hill” in Ottawa on March 10. The goal was to have Canada’s water scientists meet with policy makers to inform them about the challenges facing Canada’s water resources and to discuss solutions. Philippe was part of the delegation of scientists and had individual meetings with MP Hon. Wayne Easter of PEI and Senator Lucie Moncion of Ontario. He also participated in the lunch hosted by Dr. Mona Nemer, Chief Science Advisor to the federal government, attended by officials of all relevant ministries (including Environment, Economic Development, Agriculture, and Innovation and Science). A round-table discussion with officials of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council wrapped up the program.
