Fereidoun Rezanezhad and Philippe Van Cappellen are hosting a two-day workshop to further develop the capacity in hydrobiogeophysics (HBGP) in the Ecohydrology Research Group.
The workshop focuses on the use of induced polarization (IP) and self-potential (SP) methods to monitor the responses of soil microbial communities to dynamic changes in hydrological regime (e.g., water table oscillations, sudden flooding and drainage events, etc.).
Two of the top researchers in soil biogeophysics who are attending the workshop are Dr. Alex Furman from Technion and Dr. Estella Atekwana from Oklahoma State University.
The workshop is financially supported by a seed grant from the Water Institute awarded to Fereidoun Rezanezhad.
