World Wetlands Day 2017!

Top researchers, students and members of the public gathered at the University of Waterloo to celebrate World Wetlands Day (WWD) 2017. Starting in 2013, the Ecohydrology Research Group has organized the annual WWD at UW, which was one of many events held worldwide on February 2nd in celebration of wetlands and their protection under the Ramsar Convention of 1971.

This year’s event featured a research symposium, poster session and, in the evening, a public lecture presented by Dr. Ania Grobicki, Deputy Secretary General, Ramsar Secretariat. A detailed summary of the 2017 event, including links to the lecture recordings will be available in the coming weeks.
